What is a lvn?

A LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) is a type of nurse who provides basic medical care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. LVNs perform a range of duties such as monitoring patients' vital signs, administering medication, dressing wounds, and assisting with diagnostic tests. They work in a variety of settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and private homes. To become an LVN, one must complete a state-approved vocational nursing program and pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN). LVNs have a lower level of education and less autonomy than registered nurses, but their role is important in the healthcare system.
